Mission Statement

The mission of the LiteracyWorks initiative is to address the literacy crisis in the greater New Bedford area by working collaboratively to build capacity for improving the literacy skills (including ABE, ESOL, and work related literacy) among young adults, young people, and families. LiteracyWorks efforts will strive to incorporate basic skills and language development in all education, business, and technology training programs, and to link the importance of literacy to the economic and social well being of the community.

If you would like more information about LiteracyWorks OR to attend a LiteracyWorks meeting, contact Jean Fox at 508-979-1712 or JFox@gnbwib.org.
