WIB Finds Creative Way to Help Raise Money for Neediest Family Fund This year the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) staff raised $213 to donate to the Neediest Family Fund. The WIB was able to increase their 2008 donation of $165 by introducing "Casual Friday" where the staff can pay $1.00 to wear jeans on Friday. The staff voted to have the total collected each year donated to the neediest families fund. The new policy helped account for the $48 donation increase. The Neediest Family Fund is a collaboration between The Standard-Times, SouthCoastToday.com and The Salvation Army. Donations go to help families in need during the holidays. As of December 28, 2009, $119,695.79 was collected for the fund.
