South Coast companies receive more than $576,000 for employee training through Workforce Training Fund
Four South Coast companies, Acushnet Company, Five Star Manufacturing, HTP, and Morgan Advanced Materials recently received funding through the Massachusetts Work Force Training Fund Program. The companies respectively received $224,635, $15,946, $203,450, $132,240.
The Workforce Training Fund is open to Massachusetts companies of all sizes and provides competitive grants ranging from $10,000 to $250,000. These funds for can be used by Massachusetts employers to train their current and newly hired full-time and part-time employees. Organizations who contribute to the fund can take part (all for profit companies in Massachusetts contribute).
Acushnet Company will be training 187 employees on a mix of technical and leadership skills. Five Star will be training 8 employees on customer service, communications and team work. HTP will be training 86 employees on supervision, LEAN, and continuous improvement skills. Morgan will be training 48 employees on skills such as Kaizen, Microsoft, ISO, and Solidworks.
