South Coast SCUBA

South Coast SCUBA provides a platform for Education and Recreation with a focus on Vocation. South Coast SCUBA's mission is to educate students on disciplines related to SCUBA and diving and other marine related activities such as aquaculture, commercial diving for the wind industry, marine archaeology, and environmental conservation.

South Coast SCUBA was developed as a pilot program launched in the Fall 2017 for workforce training to explore careers in diving.

The first grant funded workforce training for 20 GNB Voc-Tech youth in eight disciplines of SSI credentials related to SCUBA and explored pathways in Commercial and other Diving careers.

With a rich maritime heritage on the South Coast, diving skills offers many career pathways in research, science, engineering, and more. There are local, national, and international workforce opportunities for individuals who earn SCUBA and Commercial Diving credentials.

The mission of South Coast SCUBA is to offer free programming to all program participants through grant funding secured by the workforce board and partners.
